RO service cost depends far more on which parts are replaced than on the visit itself. A basic service with cleaning and checks costs little. The bill grows when filters, the membrane, the pump or the power supply have to be replaced, and it grows faster with brand-specific cartridges.
Prices change with brand, model and parts, so instead of a price list this guide explains what decides the cost and how to make sure you only pay for what your purifier actually needs. For a quote for your model, call us with the brand and model name.
What makes up RO service cost
- The visit and service charge: testing, cleaning the tank and checking every stage.
- Filters: the sediment pre-filter and carbon filters, which wear out most often.
- The RO membrane: the most expensive filter, which lasts much longer than the others when the pre-filters are changed on time.
- Electrical and mechanical parts: the pump, SMPS, solenoid valve and switches, replaced only when they fail.
Why the same job costs different amounts
Two homes can get very different bills for the same model. The reasons are usually:
- Water hardness. Hard borewell water chokes filters and scales the membrane faster.
- Brand-specific cartridges. Some newer models only take the maker’s own cartridges, which cost more than standard filters.
- Genuine or compatible parts. Compatible parts are cheaper. Good ones work well, but you should always be told which you are getting.
- How long since the last service. A purifier left for two years often needs several parts at once.
8 ways to keep RO service cost down
- Change the pre-filter on time. It is cheap and protects the expensive membrane.
- Ask for TDS and flow readings before any membrane is replaced.
- Ask to see the old filters that were removed.
- Ask whether parts are genuine or compatible, and the price of each, before work starts.
And four more:
- Use a stabiliser if your area has voltage swings, to protect the SMPS and pump.
- Compare an AMC with paying per visit if your purifier needs filters every year.
- Get a written bill with the service date and any warranty on the work.
