Choosing and using an RO purifier
Is RO, UV or UF best for my home?
RO removes dissolved salts and is needed when TDS is high, as with most borewell and tanker water. UV and UF remove germs but not dissolved salts, so they suit low-TDS municipal water. Many homes in Roorkee need RO+UV+UF.
What TDS level is good for drinking water?
Under the Indian standard IS 10500, up to 500 mg/L is acceptable. Very low TDS water can taste flat, so a good RO keeps some minerals or uses a mineral stage.
Why does an RO purifier waste water?
RO pushes water through a membrane and flushes the rejected salts out as reject water. Older purifiers can waste 2 to 3 litres for every litre purified; water-saver models waste less. Reject water can be used for mopping or plants.
How long does an RO membrane last?
Usually 1 to 2 years. High-TDS water, skipped pre-filter changes and long idle periods shorten its life.
Is RO water healthy?
RO water is safe to drink. Purifiers with a mineral or alkaline stage add back minerals for taste. Keeping filters changed on time matters more than the brand.

RO water purifier FAQ: service and care
Should I switch off the RO at night?
No need. It stops automatically when the tank is full. If you go away for many days, switch it off and run a full tank to drain before using it again.
What should I do if water leaks from the purifier?
Close the inlet valve, switch off the power and call us. Most leaks come from a loose joint or a filter housing and are fixed in one visit.
Do you install purifiers bought online?
Yes, for all brands. We tell you the installation charge when you book.
Do you service purifiers outside Roorkee?
Yes. Bhagwanpur, Manglaur and Landhaura are covered like Roorkee. Haridwar gets same-day service from our own Haridwar technician team, and Dehradun gets same-day service from our Dehradun team.
