There is no single best RO brand for home that suits every family. As an independent service business we repair every brand, so we see what happens after the purchase: which purifiers are easy to service, which parts are hard to find, and which ones cost more to run. The best RO brand for home is the one that matches your water, has service and parts available where you live, and has running costs you are happy with.
Below are the four things to judge, followed by our notes on the seven brands we service most.

4 things that matter more than the brand name
- Your water. High-TDS borewell water needs a strong RO with a TDS controller. Low-TDS supply may only need UV or UF. Test first.
- Service and spare parts. A purifier is only as good as its next filter change. Brands with parts stocked locally are cheaper and faster to repair.
- Running cost. Brand-specific cartridges usually cost more than standard filters. Ask about filter prices before you buy, not after.
- Features you will use. Copper, alkaline, hot water or a steel tank add cost. Pay for them only if you want them.
The best RO brand for home: 7 brands compared
Kent
Very common in Roorkee and Haridwar. Most models use a Mineral RO design with a TDS controller, which suits areas where water quality varies. Parts are widely available.
Aquaguard (Eureka Forbes)
A long-established name with a wide range, from basic UV units to RO models with copper and mineral stages. Newer models use brand-specific cartridges.
Pureit
Started by Hindustan Unilever and now owned by A. O. Smith. Known for the non-electric Pureit Classic as well as RO models like the Vital and Eco Water Saver.
Livpure
Popular for copper models and often sold online or on rental plans. Check whether a rental plan includes service.

More brands worth knowing
AO Smith
Higher-priced purifiers with features like hot water on some models. Filters cost more, so they suit buyers who will keep up with servicing.
LG PuriCare
Stands out for its stainless steel storage tank. The tank still needs periodic cleaning.
Local and assembled brands
Usually built with standard RO parts, so repairs are cheap and parts are easy to find. Quality varies, so buy from a dealer you trust.
We also service Havells, Blue Star, V-Guard, Tata Swach, Aquafresh and Zero B. See our brand pages, for example Kent RO service and Aquaguard RO service.
Which RO has low maintenance?
Low maintenance comes from three things more than from any brand: a pre-filter that suits your water, filters that are cheap and easy to find, and a correct TDS setting so the membrane is not overworked. Models that use standard-size filters are usually the cheapest to maintain. Models with brand-specific cartridges are tidy to change but cost more each time.
If your water carries sand or silt, an external pre-filter in front of the purifier protects every stage inside and cuts maintenance noticeably.
Which RO kit or system is best for home?
An RO kit is a set of filters and a membrane fitted in a cabinet, often sold by local assemblers. A good kit uses a branded membrane, a reliable pump and standard housings, and suits buyers who want low running cost. A branded purifier gives a warranty and a finished design. For most families, a branded RO+UV with a TDS controller is the simplest choice.
We do not publish a ranked top 5 or a no. 1 list, because models change every year and the right one depends on your water. Visit our shop and we will compare current models for your TDS.
Our honest advice
Pick the technology for your water, pick a model with filters you can afford to replace, and buy from someone who will service it. A mid-range purifier that is serviced on time will give better water than an expensive one that is ignored. That is the real answer to which is the best RO brand for home.
We test your water free and help you compare models at our shop. See water purifier dealer in Roorkee and RO installation.
Brand details change often, so check the current model’s specifications and filter prices with the dealer, or on the manufacturer’s site. India’s drinking water standard, BIS IS 10500, is a useful reference when comparing purifier claims.
